Isn’t process part of problem with Obamacare?
Posted by Holly Robichaud at 7:30 am

Did you watch Brett Brier’s interview with President Obama on Fox last night?

Brett really tried to hold the President’s feet to the fire on the process of passing Obamacare.  Several times the President attempted to explain that the people don’t care about the process.

Who is right?

Are you upset by all the pay-offs such as the corn-husker kick-back and the Louisiana purchase?  Are you bothered by Speaker Pelosi’s attempt to pass Obamacare without a vote?  Does this win at all costs strategy by the President make you fear for the future of our country?

For my two cents it is both the bill and process that is outrageous.

The latest lie on Obamacare
Posted by Holly Robichaud at 8:06 am

Did you see President Obama’s latest speech on Obamacare?

I had no idea that if Congress passed Obamacare that employers would see a “3000%”decrease in premiums.  My mind is changed, not.  How about you?

President Obama should have said, “April fools” after his 3000% decrease claim.

Happy hack holiday
Posted by Holly Robichaud at 6:39 am

What are you doing to celebrate the state’s highest hack holiday—Evacuation Day?  Like most of the Commonwealth, I will be trying to make a living to pay my taxes that support the politicians hack holidays, payraises, extra leadership pay, and their per diems.

The Massachusetts House and Senate Republicans will be working today.  They are holding a caucus on jobs and the economy.

Our Democrat leaders should enjoy their last Evacuation Day.  It will be gone next year.  As you may remember the amendment to abolish Evacuation Day and Bunker Hill Day was a tie vote.  Here is a list of State Representatives who voted to keep the hack holiday:

DeLeo, Vallee, Haddad, Aguiar, Allen, Ashe, Basile, Binienda, Bosley, Brady, Canavan, Costello, D’Amico, Donato, Driscoll, Dwyer, Fagan, Fallon, Falzone, Fennell, Fernandes, Flynn, Forry, Fox, Galvin, Garballey, Garry, Golden, Greene, Hogan, Honan, Kafka, Kane, Kaufman, Keenan, Kocot, Koutoujian, Kujawski, Lantigua, Malia, McMurty, Moran, C. Murphy, J. Murphy, K. Murphy, Nangle, Nyman, O’Day, O’Flaherty, Pedone, Provost, Reinstein, Rogers, Rush, Rushing, Sanchez, Sandlin, Scaccia, Sciortino, Smith, Smizik, Speliotis, Spiliotis, T. Stanley, St. Fleur, Story, Sullivan, Swan, Timility, tobin, Toomey, Torrisi, Turner, Wagner, Wallace, M. Walsh, S. Walh, Wolf

Remember in November!

It’s the mandates, stupid.
Posted by Holly Robichaud at 6:27 am

Governor Patrick and Lt. Governor Murray are attacking Charlie Baker for premium increases at Harvard Pilgrim.  The Democrat Duo think that they are blameless in the skyrocketing of health insurance costs.  I would suggest that they look in the mirror.

This month my insurance rates have gone up $115.  Let’s blame Charlie Baker.  Oops, I don’t insure with Harvard Pilgrim.  So who should I hold accountable?  How about the Patrick administration?  It is Deval’s administration that has increased mandated coverage.  For example, everyone in the state of Massachusetts is no longer just required to have health insurance, but we are also now required to have prescription drug coverage.  That one single mandate increased my costs last year by 30%.  Did Baker implement that mandate or did Patrick?

It’s the mandates, Deval.  And they are your mandates.

Governor Patrick you want talk paychecks??? Let’s talk…
Posted by Holly Robichaud at 7:27 am

In his typical weakling fashion Governor Patrick sent out an operative to do his dirty work yesterday attacking Charlie Baker over his salary.  Governor, do you really want to talk about paychecks?

Let’s talk paychecks:

1. Deval, are more or less people getting paychecks since you became our governor?  More people are getting government paychecks while the private sector has lost thousands of jobs under your leadership.

2. Governor Patrick, did you forget your own book deal for $1.35 million?  When did you sign the deal?  That’s right on the day the House was debating casino gambling you were out of state signing the million dollar deal instead of working for the Commonwealth.

3. Governor Patrick, you want to criticize Baker for working for Harvard Pilgrim?  Baker actually saved the company.  Governor, can you name a business you have saved?

4. Isn’t working for Harvard Pilgrim better than working for the predatory lender Ameriquest?  Let’s not forget the fact that as Governor you made a phone call trying to help your former employer.

It seems to me that Governor Patrick is living in a glass house!

Play nice?
Posted by Holly Robichaud at 6:46 am

Yesterday, Governor Patrick floated the idea that he wanted to follow in Scott Brown’s foot steps by going to talk radio.  What the Governor does not get it is the message not the forum.  He can go on talk radio all across the Commonwealth, but he needs a believable message.  No one is falling for the phony property tax cut promise again.

Today Patrick says he will appear on talk radio if people “play nice.”  Let me explain what that means.  When I was co-hosting on WRKO, the Governor graced us with a visit twice.  There were rules!  The first time I was only allowed to say, “Hello.”  I was told my microphone would be shut off if I challenged the Governor.  The second time they let me ask one question but no follow ups.    From my experience “play nice” means throw the Governor only softball questions.

Our Governor should either defend his record with no pre-conditions or hide in his corner office until November.

Another day another Democrat meltdown
Posted by Holly Robichaud at 7:30 am

Did you see Congressman Patrick Kennedy’s tirade yesterday?  Who would have ever believed that a Kennedy would be complaining about the press?  I feel like I am living in an alternative reality.

Kennedy took to the House floor to admonish the press for failing to cover the Afghanistan war.  Normally I would think an outgoing Congressman is making statements to set himself up for their next job.  Certainly Eric Massa must be looking for a reality tv show.  But who would hire Kennedy after that meltdown yesterday?  His opportunities had to have diminished yesterday.  Well there is always Moveon.org.  Or maybe  Joe for oil?

Last speech on Obamacare
Posted by Holly Robichaud at 4:05 pm

This afternoon in Missouri President Obama is making another speech on passing Obamacare.  His aides say this is the last speech he is going to make attempting to pass the health care bill no one wants.  Do you believe them?  Is this the final speech?   Is this his closing argument?

He’ll be back!

Massa meltdown
Posted by Holly Robichaud at 10:22 am

Are you believing Congressman Eric Massa?  Some of his comments ring true about the White House bullying, but I think we can all agree that the country is better off with him out of office.

Did you hear Matel has a new doll coming out?  Tickle me Massa.

Why isn’t Rangel being forced out?
Posted by Holly Robichaud at 8:25 am

What’s in the drinking water in New York?  The state seems to be plagued with unethical Democrat officials from Governor Paterson to Congressman Eric Massa.  Both Paterson and Massa have done the right thing by bowing out.  Isn’t it too bad that Congressman Charles Rangel does not follow in their footsteps and call it a career?

On February 26th the House Ethics Committee issued a report concluding that Rangel’s Caribbean jaunt was in violation of House gift rules.  It did cost him his Chairmanship, but as we all know there are still other outstanding ethics investigations and tax controversies.  He is accused of failing to report income on a villa he owns in the Dominican Republican.  There are large accounting discrepancies on his financial reports. And  the House is investigating his use of four rent-stabilized apartments.  I could go on.

Shouldn’t Rangel be asked to leave Congress?  What ever happened to the Pelosi promise to have the most ethical Congress?

Whether it is a Republican or Democrat, we should have zero tolerance.

Update: Does Pelosi’s management remind you of Therese Murray’s running of the Senate in Massachusetts?
