Taunton verdict

A jury says the city of Taunton must pay $5.3 million for some 70 acres of private land taken by eminent domain for conservation use in 2002. The property owner sued after city officials insisted on paying just $850,000 for the parcel, according to the plaintiffs’ lawyer Peter Flynn.
