Mayoral panel blasts Government Center plan

Months after the Menino administration called on a developer to reduce a $2.3 billion plan to replace the Government Center Garage, a neighborhood panel says the project is still “inappropriate” and lacks a balance of uses.

The Impact Advisory Group, the 12-member group appointed by Mayor Thomas M. Menino to review One Congress Street, said the project is too tall, lacks housing and fails to deliver a mix of uses compatible with the neighborhoods.
