‘Blind Side’ tackles touching tale

Just in time for Thanksgiving comes “The Blind Side,” the story of how a wealthy white Memphis, Tenn., family adopted a homeless 16-year-old black boy and everyone’s life changed for the better.

It’s no accident that early in this stirring, unsentimental and often funny film adaptation of Michael Lewis’ nonfiction book, “The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game,” that director John Lee Hancock offers a close-up of Norman Rockwell’s famous family Thanksgiving portrait.
