It’s not often an album manages to be club-friendly and tedious at the same time. Chingy’s latest is the exception to the rule. On his fourth release, the St. Louis native’s brand of pop-rap lapses into misguided metaphors, mind-numbing repetition and recycled rap cliches about swagger. It’s only on “How We Feel,” an insightful track with a hook from Anthony Hamilton, that Chingy reveals his still largely untapped potential.
