Paying the price for her father’s fame
The next time you ponder a ballot with dismay, noting it contains the same old deadwood, wishing new candidates would emerge, here’s a name to remember: Alexandra Forbes Kerry.
No, she isn’t running for anything, nor can it be said she violated our trust because, unlike her famous father, she never asked for it.

But Joe, you have to admit that there are also considerable advantages to being the son or daughter of a wealthy and powerful politician, not the least of which is growing up rich. Also, in terms of arrests being "nobody's business", have you ever seen the names of various transgressors, large and small, printed in your local newspapers and displayed on local websites?
Well Joe, it is the 24/7 'MEDIA', of which you are a part, that insists on splashing things like this all over the place. Even your article here, as much as you think you are helping this young lady, is calling attention to the fact that she is John Kerry's daughter and somehow worthy of our attention.
Sorry, but the post that was in this spot has been removed as it did not follow our guidelines.

But she was the one who decided to invite the media into her life when she worre a sheer see through gown in public. And what was she thinking that she would just be non-controversial and non-media-attracting when she wrote and directed a film on Iranina transexuals?
Please. You can't have it both ways, caveat emptor, you want to promote yourself for positive gain, you live with the consequences of negative outcomes too. It's part of the package.

Aside from her as an example, I agree that we have lost something significant in our political system due to the insane no holds barred press they get deluged with. Some of our greatest presidents, senators, and congressmen of the past were far from perfect. Lincoln had issues, Kennedy certainly would NEVER have escaped scrutiny today, and does anyone think Franklin Roosevelt's press kept secret about being confined to a wheelchair most of his life would not have remained a press kept secret (out of respect for the office as well as the president)?? No way! And so we get the dimwits and grifters we have today.
Don't write an article about a person telling us the media should be ashamed for writing articles about said person. You're making money too. She's not a child. She chose to publicly and aggressively campaign for her father. She chose to be a Hollywood filmmaker. She chose to drink and drive.
Please spare us the river of tears over the fate of poor Alexandra Kerry. She's probably going to get a 7 figure book and movie deal out of this, as well as a standing invitation to appear on 'The View' anytime she gets the urge. These people knew fully well what kind of life they were choosing when they entered it, and I never saw anyone dragging a kicking-and-screaming Alexandra Kerry onto the stage at the Democrat National Convention. Looked to me like she was volunteeringly inserting herself into the fray. Nice try Joe, but no soap on this one.
