SUDBURY - Like the others across the state who wait in line at free health clinics, Kevin Saaristo never thought he’d be uninsured and relying on volunteer doctors for his family’s medical care.

“Thank goodness for these people,” he said of the staff, who see patients each Tuesday night inside the Congregation Beth El synagogue in Sudbury. “We’ve fallen through” the cracks, said Saaristo, 55, a Boxboro resident who came with his 17-year-old daughter, who was on crutches. “I’m a union carpenter and there’s not a lot of action. It’s a down economy.”

Wait until the government takes over the healthcare system. That should solve everything. (Said with tongue firmly planted in cheek.)

Oh absolutely Big Lou. Our Almighty One in Chief will create more doctors, nurses and facilities with a snap of his finger. He will eliminate greed and fraud from the hearts of all. All will be well with the world; and I have some land to sell anyone who agree with us.

I am not sure why they have not applied for Mass Health. They would get coverage based on thier income.
For all you nay sayers what is your plan?

Since you asked:

Portability; remove state restrictions on insurers and allow them to sell in every state as competition lowers cost.

No pre-existing condiditon denials; insurers must cover any condition an insuree has.

Tort reform; I did not say no tort cases, just reform the system for the excess and put a penalty to be paid by the losing team (both patient and lawyer) to discourage frivilous lawsuits.

Immigration Reform; send them all back and stop the flood now.
