SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - A Puerto Rican lawmaker awaiting a federal trial on corruption charges was arrested Thursday for violating his bail by allegedly contacting a government witness, U.S. prosecutors said.
Sen. Jorge de Castro Font, who is accused of providing political favors in exchange for cash and services, contacted the witness by telephone twice despite receiving a warning the first time, according to court filings.
