German authorities charge PKK suspect

BERLIN — German prosecutors say they have charged a Turkish Kurd on allegations he was a leader in Germany of the banned Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK.

Federal prosecutors said today that Huseyin A. was charged Dec. 22 with allegedly running the organization’s southern sector in Germany from February to June 2007, and Germany-wide operations after that until April 2008.
