Israel strikes homes, tunnels in Gaza attacks

ShareGAZA - Israel seized control of high-rise buildings and attacked houses, mosques and smuggling tunnels as it pressed its offensive against the Gaza Strip’s Hamas rulers yesterday.
In one of the first major gunbattles of the ground campaign, Israeli troops and Hamas militants clashed at close quarters last night on the outskirts of the crowded Gaza City neighborhood of Shajaiyeh.
