ATLANTA - When the nation’s swine flu vaccination program began in early October, health officials predicted it was going to be “messy.”
They were right.

The CDC and federal agencies can only be as effective as local health agencies allow them to be. It is the local departments who are the eyes and ears of those who distribute the vaccines. If local reporting is not accurate or requests are made that are over- or understated, then resources are not distributed properly. What would you rather have, the drug companies selling the vaccine via mail order? The government has done a good job in setting priorities and overseeing this daunting task.
