Mass. takes top ranking

It’s always nice to be at the top of the heap. That’s where Massachusetts stands in the eighth annual report on long-term competitiveness compiled by the Beacon Hill Institute at Suffolk University.
The Bay State swapped places with Utah, rated No. 1 last year and now No. 2. The rest of the top 10, in order, were North Dakota, Colorado, Idaho, Washington, Minnesota, Oregon, Wyoming and Montana.
