Slots a bad bet

With revenues falling, the only way to balance the budget is to either cut spending, create private sector growth or a combination of both. Slots accomplish neither (“Tapping those gamblers,” Nov. 18).

Sure the state may get more money but nothing of value is created. It’s the same pie with the pols getting a bigger slice and everyone else going hungry.
