Duty’s torch again passes to youth

Despite the daunting challenges and dangers that confront the new administration, our nation is also presented with an opportunity that at best comes once every 50 years.

America’s greatest resource has always been its people, and at this moment our Millennials - the more than 23 million 18- to 29-year-olds who voted in record numbers on Nov. 4 - lay the foundation for a mandate. As President-elect Barack Obama noted, victory alone is not change. It provides a chance for change. Millions of young Americans stand ready to serve - they need only to be asked.
