Cops on the beat in the South End on Tuesday afternoon saw a man smash an object through the window of a parked car, then lean in and stuff things into his jacket.

After being spotted, the suspect tried to flee, but the cops nabbed him after a short chase. Police said they found a GPS unit and a Sony CD player when they searched the suspect.
