A Dorchester mother is the one learning a lesson after she tried to exercise some tough love by locking her young daughter out for bringing home a poor progress report from school.

The girl was on the back porch screaming for about 45 minutes, cops said, and claimed that her mother came out, threatened to hit her and later pulled her by her ponytail into her bedroom.
