When Sen. Edward M. Kennedy receives an honorary degree from Harvard University at a special convocation today, it will give his home state yet another opportunity to recall both the Kennedy mystique and his decades of work in the U.S. Senate.

The Massachusetts Maritime Academy has already announced it will rename its training ship The Kennedy in tribute to the Kennedy clan, and officials in Boston have unveiled a proposal to build a national institute focused on the U.S. Senate and Kennedy’s legacy.

Enough! It is just disgusting! Teddy the K (D-Drunk) has done enough damage to this country for one life time. To honor him is to insult all of us.

Funny,

I make a comment about him being a killer and it gets deleted, I guess the Herald supports killers now, sad, very sad

I wonder what Mary Jo would have done with her life, would she be a mother of many, a teacher perhaps. oh well, she really was not important enough to deserve any recognition. But, her killer, well, he is rich and famous, so... better not bother him with messy details.

Kennedy mystique? Please. Bootlegger, substance-abuser, infidelity, hush-money, et al. Shameless might be a more apt descriptor.

To all the posters that are keeping the memory of Mary Jo Koepchne alive (both on this article and the other Harvard fiction nonsense about honor, legacy and mystique, crap really), thank you.

Funny, fossil, the "very conservative" Boston Herald doesn't like readers being reminded that Ted Kennedy killed Mary Jo Kopechne.

I've had posts removed months ago that referenced Chappaquiddick....although it might have been the mention of swimming...Let's see how this one goes.

As long as we are naming things for Kennedys, can we name the treatment center for child molesters and rapists at MCI Bridgewater after Michael Kennedy? Can we name the treatment center for habitual liars after the whole family? Can we rename the slope in Aspen, CO the "Kennedy Ski Slope of Justice"? Can we rename the bridge in Chappaquiddick the "Kennedy Free Pass"? Can we rename the MA "Dept of Revenue" the "Kennedy Department", since there hasn't been a tax Teddy didn't like. Can we name brain cancer after Ted? Lou Gehrig got his own disease, why not Ted? "I'm sorry Mr. Johnson, you've got a terminal case of Ted Kennedy"... What about the "Ted Kennedy Second Chance Dormitory" at Harvard? That's the dorm whose residents get kicked out of Harvard for cheating on Spanish finals and have their rich daddys get them back into Harvard. The same Harvard that gave him his honorary convocation. The list can go on and on...
