Bid to add law school to UMass clears committee vote
A controversial proposal to incorporate a public law school into the state’s University of Massachusetts system cleared its first hurdle this afternoon after a UMass board of trustee committee members approved the proposal 11-to-5.
The 88-page plan to take over the 235-student Southern New England Law School still must clear the financial committee and the full board of trustees before it goes to the board of higher education.
