Cambridge cops, who gave a “totally drunk” state senator an early-morning lift home but waited a month before reporting it, have routinely kicked in to his campaign re-election efforts.
Police deny there was any special treatment for state Sen. Anthony D. Galluccio.

"hours" meaning "13 hours" ... he'd have had to be at .26 .08 for that to matter, and 0.34 is usually pretty close to dead.
Let's be fair: he probably reloaded on booze and he's most certainly OVERDOSING ON ENTITLEMENT to drive off like the douchebag that he is. But 13 hours is enough time to be a sober douchbag, if he didn't drink more.

The fact that state politicians voted down a bill to get rid of their unecessary Bunker Hill Day and Evacuation Day holidays at the same time that services to the disabled are being cut is a 10x more important story which should be getting front page news. Why is this sucn a big story when its only relating to one specific politician? So the voters of Cambridge elected a loser, big deal.
Why the cops? We are talking 13 hours not "just hours". If you burn off 0.02 blood alcohol per hour, he'd have had to be lethally drunk at 4am and would have needed to go to the hospital. He would have been near dead in order to be still too drunk to drive when he had his little hit and run ... unless he drank some more. While more drinking is likely, that's not the fault of the cops for not sobering him up.
Not policing? Crime? Being drunk at a gas station isn't a crime, their Einstein.
To arrest someone for DUI you have to have 3 factors: 1) Intoxicated 2) Witnessed operation and 3) on a Mass road way
They could have pc'ed him or given him a ride home, or left him. They chose door #2. I don't think there is anyone here who would turn down a ride home from the PD instead of being pc'ed.
Once he's home, it's not the cops responsibility. PC'ed or not, he still gets to go home at some point and he could have downed a bottle of vodka or booze of choice at any point after that and the only fault is his own.
The only real stupidity on the cops is not coming forward right away.
