Trolley derailment shuts down part of Green Line
Two MBTA trolley cars stuck at a busy Brighton intersection since a derailment early this morning will likely remain there through the morning rush hour as the T works to get the trains off the tracks.
No one was injured when the outbound Green Line B Branch trolley jumped the aboveground tracks at approximately 1:30 a.m., struck a utility pole and ripped wires down sparking a fire at the intersection of Commonwealth and Chestnut Hill avenues. The roughly 30 passengers were evacuated. The fire caused significant damage to the train.
