SPRINGFIELD — Two Springfield men have been indicted by a grand jury in connection with the shooting death of a man outside a market a year ago.

The Hampden district attorney’s office said Angel Hernandez and Charles Wilhite have been indicted on murder charges in connection with the death in October 2008 of 28-year-old Alberto Rodriguez near the Pine Street Market.

Authorities say Rodriguez and Hernandez had a long-running feud.

Prosecutors said Hernandez and Wilhite waited for Rodriguez, then Hernandez handed a gun to Wilhite, who shot Rodriguez. Rodriguez tried to drive away before crashing his car.

The two suspects are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in hampden Superior Court. They have pleaded not guilty in district court.
