Slay trial begins for son accused of chopping up dad

A man accused of ghoulishly murdering his father in Mattapan - allegedly by chopping him to pieces and disposing of him in a compost heap - went on trial yesterday.

Brian Lee, 46, is charged with first-degree murder for the October 2006 death of his father, Edward Lee, 70, who was beaten to death and dismembered with a power saw inside the Hollingsworth Street triple-decker the two occasionally shared. The elder Lee had filed a restraining order against his son just days before his remains were discovered.
