MBTA to address minority grievances

BOSTON — The state Transportation Department has announced a review of hiring and promotion practices at the MBTA after hearing complaints from minority groups.

Boston civil rights leader Mel King and lawyers representing Latino employees of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority told the agency’s board Wednesday that they are planning lawsuits if their concerns are not addressed.
