New rule sends Lefty Phil Mickelson home early

NORTON - Defending champion Phil Mickelson concurs with the PGA mandate that eliminated him from today’s final round of the Deutsche Bank Championship.

The popular veteran enjoyed the support of a large TPC of Boston gallery that followed him through a lackluster 1-over round of 72. Mickelson logged a three-round, 2-under total of 211 that left him shy of qualifying for the only Monday finish on the PGA Tour.
