PARIS — Police forces will be on alert to prevent new clashes when bitter rivals Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain face off in the French league on Friday.

Eighth-place Marseille hosts PSG at the Velodrome stadium amid security fears in a game postponed last month because of an outbreak of swine flu in the Parisian team.
